Horsforth Farmers’ Market is hosted by Horsforth Churches Together and is a non-profit community venture.
Horsforth Churches Together see the market as an outward expression of their Christian understanding of the need to cherish the God-given planet on which we live. It is for this reason that they support local producers and provide a space in which the local community can flourish.
The aim is for the market to be a vibrant market supporting:
- local producers
- good stewardship of the environment
- positive community interaction
The first market was held in October 2012. A month later, due to their generous support, it was able to move to the car park and playground of St Margaret’s Primary School in Horsforth Town Street.
For the forseeable future, because of the current social distancing guidelines, we have moved to the grounds of St.Margaret's Church where it should prove easier to ensure a safe shopping experience for our customers, stallholders and volunteers.
Each market will showcase a local community project on the Horsforth Matters Stall. There is, of course, more to local shopping than the Farmers' Market. Horsforth has a wealth of small independent shops and cafes with in easy walking distance of the market.
